Data Deletion Instructions

Overview

Sprucy (sprucy.org) is operated by Yeix.io. If you used Facebook Login or otherwise created a Sprucy account, you can request deletion of your personal data as described below. See also our Privacy Policy.

How to request deletion

To delete your Sprucy account and associated personal data, email us at hello@sprucy.org from the email address linked to your Sprucy account (or the email on your Facebook profile if that is how you signed in). Use the subject line Data deletion request and include:

• Your full name as shown on Sprucy
• The email address associated with your account
• A brief note that you want your Sprucy account and personal data deleted (and whether you signed in with Facebook)

We may ask you to confirm the request to protect your account from unauthorized deletion.

Remove Sprucy from Facebook

If you connected Sprucy with Facebook Login, you can also remove the app from your Facebook account:

1. Open Facebook Settings & privacy → Settings
2. Go to Apps and websites (or Business integrations)
3. Find Sprucy, select it, and choose Remove

Removing Sprucy in Facebook stops future sharing of Facebook profile data with us. When you remove the app, Facebook may also send an automated deletion request to our callback URL. We process those requests and delete Sprucy account data linked to your Facebook Login, then provide a confirmation code and status page.

What we delete

After we verify your request, we delete or anonymize personal data tied to your account, including:

• Your Sprucy user profile (name, email, avatar URL, password hash)
• Facebook Login linkage stored in our system (OAuth account records)
• Session and authentication data
• Community memberships associated with your account
• Volunteer sign-ups, RSVPs, follows, and similar interactions tied to your user ID

What may be retained

Some information may be kept where necessary to operate the service, comply with law, or preserve community context:

• Posts and comments you published may remain visible with your name, or may be anonymized at moderator discretion, so community threads stay coherent
• Donation records processed by Stripe or Patreon may be retained by those providers under their policies; we remove or anonymize our copy of personal donation linkage where applicable
• Minimal logs needed for security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations, retained only as long as required

Timing

We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email when your account data has been deleted.
